Horray For Camp! - MP Albania

Children at the Alb camp
Other Languages:

Both children and leaders are enthusiastic about camp in Albania.

Children look forward to summer activities in every country where MP operates. They arrive with enthusiasm, enjoy every minute, and have memories to cherish long after summer is over.

During these precious days, it is our fervent prayer that love, joy, and the seeds of faith would be sown in the hearts of all the children and teens.

Lesson in ALB

A two-day “mini camp” for children was about to begin in Bathore, Albania, at Mission Possible’s Hope Center near Tirana. The most eager participants arrived three hours before camp started. The reason was proclaimed very clearly:

“We can’t wait for camp to start! We want to have fun!”

Gjergji Como, the leader of the camp and of MP’s work in Albania, smiled and heard the Spirit of God whispering inside him, “Did you hear that? They have expectations, and these expectations will be fulfilled.” And that is indeed what happened!

Over the course of two days we played games, had fun competitions, sang, laughed, and made new friends. There were Bible lessons and a chapel where they were told about Jesus’ journey from heaven to earth, to the cross, and His miraculous resurrection.

Our team member Marinela, Gjergi’s wife, said, “I was impressed by the reaction of the children during the service and the lessons. They listened quietly; you could see in their faces how they were envisioning the story. One girl exclaimed very sincerely, ‘This is incredible! Can this be true? Look what Jesus did for us!’”

“If you could have seen how the children praised God!” Gjergji proclaimed. “Watching them receive the Good News…I now understand what Jesus meant by saying, ‘Out of the mouths of children and infants you have established praise.’

“We pray that in addition to all the fun, the children would understand and believe the love of our Savior. During camp, seeds of faith are sown in the hearts of these children. Pray with us that these seeds will grow and bear fruit.”

Former Club and Camp Attendees Have Become Leaders

Our staff members were assisted by six volunteer helpers who accepted Christ through Hope Center’s children and youth clubs and camps.

Sara: The camp was awesome. I had a great time with the kids. I especially liked the games. I didn’t want to leave!

Klajdi: The children spent time together, had fun, and listened to Bible lessons. It was a precious time for them, and I myself was privileged to serve.

Juliana: The camp was fantastic! The kids learned how to work together, and the best part was when everyone sang and praised God.

Kleada: The best thing was the openness and love amongst the children and the demonstration of respect amongst the leaders. I felt God with us and know He cares about every child there.

Ergest (Kleada's younger brother): I was no longer a camper but, instead, a group leader this time. In the arts and crafts workshop, we played with kinetic sand. When we started, most of the sand was gray, but after I mixed in a bit of green sand, the whole batch turned green. This made me realize that even a little something can have a great impact on others. I believe my role at camp has prepared me for future responsibilities, whatever those may be.

Ardit: The children and all of us leaders were excited about camp. God wanted to teach me something new: everything I do in service to Jesus has significance.

Eligerta Sherri, MP team member: Camp had a lot of fun and games, but there was something deeply meaningful about it, too.

The children gained something far more valuable than just knowledge about God. They now have a desire to be involved in a Christian community, a hunger to learn more, and the assurance that faith matters in their lives.
