At our Hope Center in Bathore, Albania, we have our own community library — the only library in the Tirana suburb of 40,000 people, most of whom are Muslim. It has operated on the top floor of our center for 15 years.

The library has borne much fruit. At their teachers’ encouragement, schoolchildren come to borrow textbooks and other resources. After becoming familiar with our team at the library, many students have joined our outreach activities. Our staff member Kleada was a student who visited our library and then took part in our children’s camps and clubs, where she heard about Jesus.

In addition to lending books we organize a variety of events in the library for both adults and children, like weekly gatherings for women. Our lectures on parenting and health, for example, offer applicable information and practical guidance for everyday life. We invite library visitors and those attending the lectures to take part in other Hope Center activities as well where we tell them about Jesus.

We arrange library visits for schoolchildren and preschool groups. These visits have encouraged children to read and borrow books and have created positive connections with the local schools.

Last spring the director of a nearby school asked us to organize an event for preschool groups. We prepared a special program for the children, and at the end each child received a copy of our Christian children’s magazine Mrekullia (Miracle) and a gift. The children greatly enjoyed the visit, and the director, teachers, and two city representatives who attended expressed sincere appreciation.

In addition to the educational experience the children had, we believe the visit built an important bridge that will help us continue Christian ministry in this community.

The Hope Center library creates a point of contact between local residents and the Christian message.

Knowledge helps people see things in new ways.

We build a bridge to Christian faith.

Textbook Collection for Albania

The Hope Center library offers many opportunities to serve people and share the gospel. We want to develop and expand its collection.

Our greatest need is for textbooks. Schoolchildren, especially from low-income families, borrow their textbooks from us.

The books cost approximately $6 each.

By donating one or more books, you help our library reach children and families in Bathore.

Please designate your donation for the library in Albania.

We sincerely thank you for your support!
