Christina, a Mother of Four, Does Not Complain about Difficulties

Christina and Todor met in school. They started a life together later when Todor, despite his young age, was already the father of a little girl. The mother had abandoned the child right after its birth. Christina began caring for the baby as her own.

A year later, Todor and Christina had a son. Their next child, also a boy, was born at home with Christina’s sister assisting in the childbirth. Their third son is only three weeks old. Todor is often absent from home.

Christina, who is only 21 years old, does not complain about her daily hardships. At the time we visited her, there was no water in the village due to a drought. She walked every day to fill a canister at a well outside the village. She pushed a rickety baby carriage and the three older children walked alongside her.

Christina keeps her small home neat and clean. To earn some money she weeds the villagers’ orchards. Her children are with her all the time.

It was a very hot day when we visited the family in their dilapidated brick house. Christina was so glad for the Baby Box. The older siblings were not disappointed as we had packed some items for them as well. We also gave them water canisters to store water when the village’s supply runs short.

Christina gratefully accepted our prayers for her family.
She was especially happy with the children’s Bible
from which she can read stories to her children.

Irina Grigorova, always joyful and smiling, is the coordinator of the Baby Box program in Bulgaria. She has become familiar to readers through the stories she has written in our newsletters. Here she tells her own story:

I am Irina. I am 52 years old and I love helping people, especially children. I take them in my arms and hug them whenever I can. By profession, I am a technician and have previously worked as a bank clerk. At Mission Possible I can work according to my calling.

When I lived without God, I realized that my life lacked direction and purpose. In 2002 I came to faith and changed from an anxious, angry, bitter person to a calm one who trusts God.

That same year I got to know the staff of Mission Possible and started attending various teaching events they organized. One of those was a children’s Sunday school teacher’s course.

I joined the ministry as a volunteer. There was enough need for me to become a full-time team member, and I continued in the work I’d learned to do. I coordinate the Baby Box program and am involved in the distribution of aid, ministry to women, and children and youth camps.

I have seen many changes
in the lives of children and families.
I myself can’t change anyone,
but I can tell others about the hope
I have in Jesus, and He is the One
who can change their lives.
