An Invitation to a Miracle for the Whole Family

“With the help of the LORD I have brought forth a man,” said Eve, the first woman, when she had her first child (Genesis 4:1).

No child comes into the world by accident. God calls everyone into life and entrusts them to parents to cherish as gifts. Unfortunately, in today’s world, children are not always seen as gifts. So many are un-wanted, neglected, and unloved.

Through our BabyBox Project, we tell parents that every new life is unique and precious, and we honor the Giver of life. Every child has a calling and a purpose: to know God and live their life for Him.  As we assemble the boxes, we pray for protection and blessing over every child that will utilize the contents within. And we pray that God’s love will touch the parents through this gift as well.

The situations these families face are very difficult, and change can seem impossible.  But God’s love can transform the lives of both parents and children and lead them to Jesus.  Every BabyBox is an invitation to a miracle for the whole family!

"I want my children to become good people!"

We met Danka while distributing BabyBoxes in her home village. She is only 25 years old but already has seven children! Her youngest was born two months ago.

Danka and her husband were never sent to school and have no permanent work. They also lack official identification and a home address, so they are exempt from receiving social benefits. Some time ago, authorities demolished their home in a slum and evicted them to a field! Now the entire family of nine lives in one small room, yet it is very clean and cozy. In the midst of very limited choices, her love for her children is clear.

Despite everything, Danka and her husband are not without hope. It is hope that helps them keep going. That is why they named their baby girl Nadezhda ("Hope"). They make sure their children attend school so that they won’t remain in such poverty.

"Pastor, I don’t even know how to write my name, but I want my children to become good people!”

I asked Danka why they have so many children when it is so hard to provide for them. Her answer moved me: "Being a mother is a great blessing to me. I could never have an abortion to prevent a child from being born.”

The young mother radiates sincere warmth. We ended our visit by praying together. I asked Danka if she already knew Jesus as her Savior. "I love Him very much, but I don't know how to approach Him," she replied. So together we brought Danka and her family before Jesus in prayer.
