The Third Wartime Summer Camp in Ukraine

A Blessing for the Children and the Young Leaders

“We held two children’s camps this summer. These camps are not just for the children, however. They are also an opportunity for the leaders to be challenged and to use their gifting to serve. The team was well prepared. All activities and teaching during camp were purposeful in sharing the gospel, and children’s hearts were impacted,” said Tanya, leader of MP in Ukraine.

Oksana

“One of our new helpers was Oksana. We first met her in 2016 when we started a children’s Bible club in her home village. She was always eager to participate and learned the Bible verses by heart!

“The years went by quickly, and last year, when Oksana was at youth camp, we noticed her social skills and performing talents. This summer we invited her to the children’s camps as a teacher. She led the evening gatherings and a Bible study group. What a joy it is to see God’s work in the lives of our children!” Tanya proclaimed.

The war has affected the children

“These children are growing up in the midst of war, and many have a family member on the front lines. They must cope with the emotions of living in a very tumultuous world with no control over the outcome,” our worker Snizhana told us. “So we teach children to rely on God and pray for their families. This is what we camp leaders ourselves have to do. God is our only refuge and hope.”

Dima with his new baby girl!

In the midst of so much uncertainty, MP Ukraine has joyful news.  Our leader Tanya and and her husband Dima had a baby girl in July! They had resigned to never becoming parents after years of waiting, but newborn Kira has come as an ambassador of joy and hope. The elated mother and father continue in their leadership of MP in Ukraine and were grateful for other leaders to be able to host the summer camps that they had to miss.
