My name is Kathy Robinson and I am honored to serve as Mission Possible USA board chair. Soon after the Iron Curtain fell, I was an MP missionary. After graduating college and teaching a few years, I went on staff at Mission Possible to help churches begin children’s and youth ministries.

For 2 years, I traveled and trained children’s ministry leaders and youth workers. It was an incredible experience. I met wonderful, faithful Christian brothers and sisters. It was humbling for me to be such a young person with something valuable to offer these churches. Indeed, it felt upside down, as I felt I should have been learning from them and their lives of steadfast faith under oppression.

But God used our coming together – me, in my youth and these faithful ones, eager to begin teaching children of our faithful Savior. Many Sunday Schools and youth groups were formed and I am forever grateful to have played a small part in the story of Mission Possible and the story of the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ.

It is my honor to welcome you to our 50th year of ministry at Mission Possible. Our beginnings were small, built on the desire to be of service to the Church behind the Iron Curtain. Now, 50 years on, their needs and our projects look very different, but we still pray and work to serve Christ in this post-Soviet region.

The people I met many years ago are still faithfully serving the Lord. They are still my heroes and friends. Our Lord is still faithful. We pray God will give us more opportunities in the future to preach the Gospel through word and deed.  And we pray He will give us more partners in the United States, like you, that will continue to support His work through the Church in Eastern Europe.

Will you join us this year in celebrating God’s faithful guidance of Mission Possible since 1974?
