Youth Academy Trains Disciples
"Youth Academy," organized by Mission Possible in Bulgaria, is intended for young people aged 16-21. The program, which started in 2021, supports their growth in faith and service and helps them find their own vocation.
Meetings, video sessions, personal mentoring
The three-year course provides young people with biblical knowledge, helps them grow in their walks of faith, and equips them to be leaders in ministry. One level of the course is completed over a period of several months each year. Level One covers the basic doctrines of the Bible. Each week the students take part in a two-hour video session taught by pastors and workers from different churches throughout Bulgaria.
Committed participation in a challenging course
Our first Academy students have been committed to attending each session, have worked hard on their homework, and have taken opportunities to meet one-on-one with their teachers. These efforts reflect their desire to do something worthwhile with their lives. This inaugural Youth Academy class has twelve students who have progressed to Level Three. Meanwhile, the Level One course is being offered for incoming students.
Young people help at the camps and work in slum villages
Mission Possible’s projects provide Youth Academy students with on-the-job training. They gain experience in Christian work and outreach. We believe that some of them will become full-time workers with Mission Possible

International youth team met in Bulgaria
In August we organized a week-long event associated with Youth Academy. In addition to the Bulgarian students, there were twenty young adults from two churches, one Swedish and the other American, that support Mission Possible’s work. At our activity center, we began by addressing the following questions:
• What does it mean to be a disciple of Jesus?
• What does it mean to be a missionary?
• What is missionary work, and what is it not?
• How does a team work together?
Thirty young people and their mentors then boarded minibuses and set off to put theory into practice in the 95-degree heat!
We help local churches
“Our job is to help churches in their work,” MP’s president, Ignat Ivanov, told the young people.
“Missionaries return to their homes, but the local churches remain.” Team members participated in evangelistic events hosted by four slum village churches. They sang, spoke, organized crafts and games, and did Bible drama performances. Additionally, Baby Boxes were distributed and families were prayed for. The experience was so positive that the Youth Academy’s first international event is unlikely to be its last.
