Friendship and Faith Grow Together in Children’s Bible Clubs

Other Languages:

UKRAINE

At our Bible clubs in Ukraine, children and teens get to know Jesus while they also get to know one another. Many have made new friends while attending the clubs. Faith, plus community and friendship, is a vital source of hope and joy in the midst of war.

The Bridge of Friendship Leads to Jesus

At age six, Katya was one of the youngest participants when she joined her village’s Bible club.

From the very beginning, she was curious and intrigued by everything that happened there. She listened carefully to the teachings and asked questions. It was evident that Katya had a sincere desire to understand more.

Over time, her interest in God and the Bible has only continued to grow. Her questions have become deeper, her heart has opened to God, and she enjoys praying.

Katya often brings new children with her to the club. She explains how things work, helps them feel welcome, and encourages them to engage with the group and its activities.

Katya is still a young girl, but she is already a “bridge-builder.” As she grows in her own faith, she is helping other children take their first steps toward God.

New Team Members in Ukraine

Our team in Ukraine continues its work in villages throughout the Odesa region, distributing aid and Christian literature while organizing Bible clubs for children and teens and hosting Bible studies and support groups for women.

This team has gone through some recent changes. Snizhana, whose husband and father are both soldiers on the front lines, and whose wartime burden has been especially heavy, has stepped down from the ministry, along with her sister, Angelina. Two new team members have stepped in to serve: Ksenya and Anya.

Seventeen-year-old Ksenya is like a sister and friend to many of the teenagers who participate in the local Bible club. She has been involved with Mission Possible since she was seven.

“I truly loved the club and tried to attend every week. I also went to the summer camps. As I grew older, I began serving as a volunteer.”

Anya came to Odesa as a refugee from Donetsk. She is actively involved in children’s ministry at her church. A local pastor told her about the opportunity to serve with Mission Possible.

“I am so happy to be part of this ministry!” said Anya.

The Ukraine team is currently preparing for this summer’s activities for children and teens.

“We are planning a camp for the older children and day trips to Odesa for the younger ones. Please pray for the children, the logistics, and especially for safety,” requested Tanya, leader of our ministry in Ukraine.

Our ministry center has been spared from damage so far, but air strikes have hit just over 300 feet away. Air raid sirens sound nearly every night.
