A Missionary Around the Clock

The Church Can Bring Lasting Change — But It Needs Our Help
This post begins a new series exploring how Mission Possible partners with local congregations across Eastern Europe to bring lasting change. Each story will highlight the heart of our mission — equipping the Church to serve, grow, and transform communities.
A Symbolic Moment: Passing the Baton of Leadership
Rumen Ivanov passes the “director’s baton” to Iva Tsvetkova. In the story that follows, Iva herself writes about her calling and what this new chapter means for Mission Possible Bulgaria.
Mission Possible Bulgaria Turns 35!
In September the ten-member team of Mission Possible Bulgaria celebrated the ministry’s anniversary together with Western co-workers, supporters, friends, and representatives from local churches. The event also marked a generational transition in leadership: long-time team member Iva Tsvetkova stepped into the role of Director, receiving the responsibility from Roumen Ivanov, who will continue serving with MP in various ways.
From Iva Tsvetkova
Mission work is not a profession or a job; it is a way of life. It is a lifelong calling from God to take part in His plans and service.
Being a missionary means having the readiness to say, “Here I am, Lord, send me!” – even if you don’t know where you will go.
We just celebrated the thirty-fifth anniversary of Mission Possible in Bulgaria. I joined the work twenty years ago. For the first five years I served as a volunteer, spending my vacation time at camps, events, and trips around the country. During that time I observed closely how a mission organization operates. For the past thirteen years I have been part of the team as a full-time worker. I have had the privilege of living as a missionary twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. God has answered my prayer!
In mission work, both motivation and fulfillment come from knowing that we are part of God’s plan of salvation for humanity.
