The Dream Came True!
In June 2016, in the attic of our Bulgarian operations center, steps were being taken to make a dream become a reality. Five people began planning how to prepare and deliver supplies and counsel to the needy mothers in Bulgaria’s slum villages.
At the heart of the vision was a package full of love: a box of much-needed baby clothes and care items, and the message of God’s great gift of love to the recipients.
We desired that these despised and impoverished mothers know that they and their children are important and valuable.
We also wanted to influence the thinking of the families and advise the daughters not to get married and have children as young as their mothers and grandmothers did – which was as young as twelve!
The dream was named Baby Box Project.
For the past five years Mission Possible has worked in Bulgaria to help mothers and their children, who, like the generations before them, will remain in the slums in a miserable cycle if nothing changes.
Through the Baby Box Project we aim to help people break out of this cycle. Therefore, in addition to the package, we give mothers support and training on caring for their babies. Counseling and education are essential for these uneducated women who are trapped in traditions that are harmful to everyone.
We have seen how the dream has begun to come true through faith and many people's work, prayers, and financial support. More than 3,000 mothers have already received a Baby Box.
The plan materialized and grew even more widely than we had hoped. In Russia, too, our teams assemble and deliver Baby Boxes to mothers in crisis and help them in their desperate situations.
As a result, many mothers can now continue raising their children at home instead of the infants being sent to government orphanages.
The dream becomes real every time a Baby Box is received. Thank you for helping make the dream a reality, and please continue to support this fruitful work!
“Dreams come true through faith, prayer, and hard work.
And endurance is needed to see a vision become a reality.”
