Reaching out to the whole family.
The family is God’s idea. In His perfect design, He intended everyone to be part of a loving family, yet so many people come from broken homes. We believe God has called us to reach out and fight for families.
Andrey Ivanov, Yekaterinburg’s shelter home director, believes the biggest problem of our time is the absence of fathers. Too many children and adults carry the pain of not having had a loving father. He has been taken away by work or drugs or the war…or maybe he left before ever meeting his children. There can be deep-rooted emotions associated with a father. Many men don’t know how to be fathers because they never knew a father themselves.
God, our Heavenly Father, desires to “turn the hearts of fathers to their children, and the hearts of children to their fathers” (Malachi 4:6).
In this blog series, being shared over the next few weeks, we are focusing on our work with fathers. You’ll see how we are trying to help families heal and step into God’s perfect design. Over and over again, we see how change takes place when the hearts of fathers turn to their children.
