BabyBox Project

Caring for the newborn life: Working with the local church to partner with impoverished families through education, mentorship, and gift boxes full of supplies for new mothers.

Mission Possible distributes boxes of baby clothing, blankets, and care products; the BabyBox is a gift of love to the mother who has little or nothing. It is a beautiful and effective way to share the Gospel and to support families.

BabyBox Project
Partnering with young mothers who need our help in Bulgaria and Russia.

BabyBox Project Bulgaria

Bulgarian Roma girls and women are amongst the most impoverished people in Eastern Europe. Poverty and few job opportunities drive many to beg, steal, and sell themselves. Frequently a burden for parents to provide for their daughters, the girls are married off as early as possible, some as young as 13 years old. Continuing the cycle, the girls become young mothers with little knowledge of parenting or health care. Difficulties are aggravated by poor housing, sanitation, and lack of education.

BabyBox Project Bulgaria has proved to be the key to the door of these slum villages, homes, and the hearts of these young women.

BabyBox Project Russia

Russia has historically accepted abortion as a form of birth control, with young women considering this or abandoning their child as an option. BabyBox Project aims to give them an alternative. Many of the moms we serve, some still teenagers, have grown up with alcoholic and abusive families or in orphanages; without support or parenting knowledge, life can become even more difficult. Becoming a victim of abuse is common, and housing can be deplorable. Choosing to continue a pregnancy is not an easy decision.

BabyBox Project Russia is proving to be a great help for young women, allowing them an alternative choice, being a new mom, and stopping the cycle of poverty and abuse.

Celebrating 50 years of Ministry in Eastern Europe!

It is my honor to welcome you to our 50th year of ministry at Mission Possible. Our beginnings were small, built on the desire to be of service to the Church behind the Iron Curtain. Now, 50 years on, their needs and our projects look very different, but we still pray and work to serve Christ in this post-Soviet region.

It's Not Only a Box

Mission Possible assesses individual situations and can provide additional help by:
  • Sourcing donations of furniture or baby equipment
  • Parental education and care
  • Child welfare education and care
  • Guidance for official documentation
  • Finding or renovating housing

Support from people who care reaches these desperate mothers and their precious babies, and the Gospel message is shared with them all.

How You Can Help

The clothes for the BabyBox Project are donated in Europe and shipped to Bulgaria.

Unfortunately we cannot accept clothing donations from the USA due to shipping costs. The boxes contain not only clothes but baby care products (such as diapers, lotions, scissors, hairbrushes), baby toys, and instructional materials. These items and the large boxes which contain them are purchased in either Bulgaria or Russia, where prices are lower. The boxes are packed in the target country by our team and volunteers.

We distribute approximately 50 boxes per month.
The total cost for one full BabyBox with transportation, literature, mentorship and care for the mother and baby is $60 (50 euros). You can support this project by donating and designating the funds to “BabyBox Project.”
