"I Am In This Movie!"
- BY IGNAT 'IVO' IVANOV, President -
Have you ever had a side role in a movie as one in a crowd or as a passerby? In the finished film, you spot yourself and say to the others, “Look, that’s me!”
I have met a large number of children,
teenagers, and adults whose lives
MP’s teams and ministry have played a role.
In the story of the lives of many people,
we have gotten to play a role
in the scenes that turn the whole course of events.
Our Bulgarian team and I recently visited several slum villages to distribute Baby Boxes and school supplies. We were accompanied by four young people who are participating in Mission Possible’s discipleship training and have attended our programs for children and teens for many years.
Two of them were born in the same slum village and now study at Sofia University! This is an extremely rare story considering the circumstances from which they came. They are a great example for hundreds of kids!
These four young people led the activities for older children outside the house of prayer while the mothers’ Bible study and teaching were held inside.
One of the churches we visited congregates in an old wagon. There are meetings almost every day. Our team has brought baby boxes, clothes, Bibles, and other supplies to this church.
The church’s youth group had a praise and worship performance in the middle of the street. “Lord, we believe you will give us a church building!” they prayed at the end.
“I feel we’re involved in some great thing the Lord has started in this village,” one of our workers whispered to me.
I, too, feel that we have been given a role in helping this church move forward – and not just this church!
Have you ever thought that you also are playing a part in this story?
Thank you for your “role in this performance!” I wish you God’s blessings and a great fall season!
“I’LL BECOME AN EVEN BIGGER BALLERINA!”
Ivo talked with the children of the “wagon church.”
– “It’s nice at school, but better in the church!” they said.
– “What will become of you when you grow up?” Ivo asked.
– “A policeman!” the red-shirted boy said.
– “I will become a teacher!” said the girl standing next to him.
– “I’ll become a ballerina,” said the next girl.
– “And I’ll become an even bigger ballerina!” another exclaimed.
