We carefully chose our steps along a road covered with large stones, debris, and tree branches. Slowly we made our way to the cottage where our friend Zlatka lives with her family. She opened the door and declared, “God saved us!”

The walls were still standing, but the roof had partially collapsed. I took a look inside. Zlatka’s grandson showed me the room covered in mud. A chicken wandered in and pecked at the floor. The young boy recounted what had happened,

“First, there was heavy rain. We heard a huge rumble, and then water and mud poured in through the windows! We were terrified, but we survived!”

Mission Possible is helping Zlatka’s family and several others repair their homes.

The Ukraine war has devastated countless people's lives and homes, like a flood. The effects of such political torrents are being felt across Europe – and the world. The most pressing question is: “How will one survive the coming winter?” given the instability, lack of resources, and war-torn communities.

The task that lies before us believers at this time in the small village of Slatina – and in the nations –  is to share hope with our neighbors.

I am happy to report that our Ukraine, Russia, Bulgaria, and Albania teams have continued their work. Day by day, and despite many challenges, they are sharing the gospel and helping.

-The kingdom of God is not a political kingdom but rather an invisible one within people’s hearts (Luke 17:20).
