The Gospel Came to Tanya's Home in a Box of Baby Clothes.

Baby Boxes Open Hearts

When we share the gospel and pray for people, we never know if a seed of faith will take root and sprout in their hearts. Therefore, when we get to see evidence of fruit in an individual’s life and in communities, it is a great joy to us.

Mission Possible’s Bulgarian team visits churches in slum villages and impoverished neighborhoods to evangelize, distribute Baby Boxes, and mentor mothers. 

At a recent gathering in a Bulgarian village church, it was the time in the program for us to give out Baby Boxes. One by one the mothers with their little ones came up front to receive their package. Some asked us to pray about specific issues; we prayed for every mother and child.

Tanya was not a Christian, but the local pastor had invited her to the church for this event. Tanya was also told that every mother would receive a Baby Box. A personal invitation and the promise of a much-needed gift convinced Tanya to attend.

When Tanya came forward, she told us about her difficult family situation. Her husband hadn’t been able to work for two months due to severe nerve pain that racked his whole body and left his face twisted. I saw helplessness and despair in Tanya’s eyes and asked her if we could pray for her husband. She replied, “Yes!” We prayed and thanked Jesus for being our Help and our Hope no matter what the circumstances.

Shortly after this event, the pastor of the church called me. In a voice trembling with joy and emotion, the elderly man shared how Tanya had come back to the church to testify of her husband’s healing, and then she accepted Jesus as her Savior!

It is our prayer that God’s love and grace will touch mothers and families as they receive the gift of a beautiful Baby Box filled with clothes and resources, as they hear the gospel message, and as we pray for them.

The Baby Box is a conduit for sharing help and love and opening hearts to Jesus.
