Focusing On the Things We Can Influence

The famous “Prayer of Serenity” says:

“God, grant me the serenity
to accept the things
I cannot change,
courage to change the things I can,
and wisdom to know the difference.”

There are things that we have little control over or that may take decades to change. There are circumstances we sometimes have to accept, but that weigh heavily on our minds. Yet, at the same time, there are many things we can influence.

There are people to whom you and I can offer crucial aid to immediately.

As I write this, our Bulgarian team is delivering shoes, clothes, and boxes of food to a slum village whose families are living in appalling conditions due to problems caused by the pandemic. Some of the village’s children are barefoot in the middle of winter, with only rags to protect their feet.

We can make a difference in the lives of these and many other desperate people.

Let’s focus on those things
we can change and ask God
for the wisdom and help
to do what is possible
– both in our own lives and in the mission fields!

Below  are the most important figures of our operations in 2020.
A sincere thank you for your participation in impacting people’s lives!

Statistic 2020 ENG 14

Ministry to families increased significantly last year

Our teams reached 1,300 more families in 2020 than in 2019.

In addition to regular family ministry, there were emergency campaigns to assist the elderly, the infirmed, and families afflicted by the pandemic.

Forty-five new volunteers helped in the distribution of aid.

Mission Possible had a total of 71 staff members and 425 volunteers working in eastern European countries of operation last year (map included on the bottom).

Family receives help

Our teams raise support in their countries of operation

In 2020 we sent an estimated $530,000 into our countries of operation, $30,000 of which was used for pandemic relief. These funds covered basic operations costs.

Additionally, our teams raise money and needed supplies through local sources. For example, if a family needs a stove, word is spread in churches and social media to locate the item.

In recent years, our teams have raised the same amount from their surrounding communities as they have received in foreign donations, thus covering nearly half the budget with local resources. Last year, due to pandemic complications, local fundraising was reduced.

Would you consider becoming a monthly donor to help our work grow?

The loyalty of our supporters is one of the keys for sustaining a wide ministry with a relatively small donations base. Many supporters are regular donors and have become familiar to us over the years. Monthly support gives us the ability to expand our work.

Along with your help,
we were able to continue
our operations of serving those in need
and to reach out to new families
despite the pandemic!

Mother and child in shelter home

Our shelter homes help mothers become free from drugs and give victims of domestic violence a chance to start a new life. The residents hear the gospel while living at the shelters.
