God Makes Things New Today
PÄIVI RANTA, Coordinator of Mission Possible Finland
In nature, spring is always a time of new beginnings. After the cold winter season I look forward to seeing new green shoots sprouting up. Each new beginning means leaving the old behind. This is a prerequisite for growth and change.
We all face times in our lives when we need to let go of the old and step into the new. Sometimes, change comes without our consent, shattering our dreams and throwing our lives into deep pain and darkness. But even there, through the pain, God brings forth life (as He did for Julia, whose story is told in this issue).
Christ is well-acquainted with pain and sacrifice. He experienced rejection, persecution, and the agony of death on the cross. But through the suffering of His Son, God created something new; Christ’s death was followed by the glorious dawn of resurrection.
Through the decades, we at Mission Possible have experienced many trying seasons, but we have also witnessed how God can use trials and trauma to bring growth and transformation.
We aren’t bound by methods. We serve a living God who leads us to minister in various ways so we can respond to the challenges each season brings. Even today, God is opening new ways to bring aid and the gospel to those in need.
With all the crises in the world today, we need wisdom. We must pray and seek God’s guidance for these times. May He enable us to work with perseverance, faithfulness, and trust in Him!
He still loves this world,
He still seeks the lost,
and He still sends us
to bring help and the gospel to those in need.
He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
